Amethyste Geode
Its name comes from the Greek “amethustos” (which preserves intoxication). It is the most known of quartz gems. Its color is due to its content of iron and a natural irradiation.
The amethyste is frequent in the geodes of effusive volcanic rocks with metal seams.
