Moroccan septaria
Nice and decorative Moroccan Septarian slab from Oujda (Oriental Region) which shrinkage cracks are filled with white Calcite. Polished from one side.

“Septarians” or “Septaria” (singular: “Septarium”) are an unusual type of lenticular to bulb-shaped concretions. They are formed in calcareous mudstone, when cracks appear in the nodule due to shrinkage, and are filled with crystals deposited from percolating brines. The Septarian slices come from Morocco.
They are carefully cut out of Septarian nodules and polished from one side.
