Hematite from Morocco

Hematite, goethite or Oligiste, is a mineral made up of oxide iron III - Its formula is Fe2O3.

It is a mineral of black color, gray silver plated, brown red, or red. If it is reduced on powders, hematite, whatever its variety, gives reds glares.

The name of "hematite" is borrowed from Latin "haematites", even borrowed to him of the Greek “haematites”, word derived which comes from a word meaning “blood”. The hematite powder was used as red pigment.
