The "Eye of tigre" is a semi-precious stone formed with crocidolite, wrapped in quartz, which gives it that color so special. It is thus part of the variety of quartzs microcristallins. Opaque and hard stone, a hardness of 7 and a density of between 2.64 and 2.71, its shimmering color can range from yellow brown to red brown.

This variety of stones on the surface have a small stroke of yellow light due to its fibrous structure that evokes the eye of the tigre which it takes its name. The largest deposits are in South Africa although they are available in the West of Australia, Burma, India or in the west of USA.
